WES Construction completed the Remote Headworks Shaft Access Improvements for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), a unique project requiring a strong team with specialized skill sets.

This project involved work at both the Ward Street Headworks and the Columbus Park Headworks. The scope included removing the concrete covers, metal grating, supports, and cast-iron pipe, installing new precast-on-site removeable concrete shaft covers with access hatches, and furnishing and installing all required conduits and wiring. There was a significant pumping/bypass plan required as part of this work.
