“The Embrace” is a 20-ft-tall bronze monument to Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife Coretta Scott King. WES Construction was responsible for the site work and landscaping including construction footings, benches, intricate granite pavers, and custom lighting in the area surrounding the monument.
WES Construction faced and overcame challenges to complete the groundwork for “The Embrace” on schedule, ahead of planned Martin Luther King Day ceremonies.
Some of the challenges faced by WES were supply chain delays, granite pavers that had chipped in transit and a water line in a place not previously identified on the plans. WES had to act quickly, get creative, and pivot to stay on schedule despite these unavoidable challenges.
