Langone / Populo park is along the waterfront in historic North End of Boston.
This is the location that Paul Revere began his ride to warn the colonies the British were coming. The parks were built in the location of three separate parks to combine and join the community, and tourists alike. The park includes a child play area, baseball field, bocce court, an artificial turf multi-purpose field, and a spectacular boardwalk. The entire site was raised 4 feet to mitigate present flooding and to protect against future tide height increases. Work also included drainage of surface water and drainage pipes, including the outlet of the BWSC drainage outfall to the harbor. WES also rebuilt the steel sheet barrier of the old merchant ship channel. WES received numerous awards for this state-of-the-art project.
